MA FIN EST MON COMMENCEMENT
My end is my beginning

The installation consists of sounds and facial images that are repeated over and over again in endless cyclical movement. The source of inspiration for the work has been a musical composition Ma fin est mon commencement by French composer Guillaume de Machaut (1300-1377). The theme of the composition is infinity. A sound in the installation says “my end is my beginning” which describes the relationship to ourselves and our existence. We are constantly confronted with things from our past that we may have been aware of but not quite fully understood. The installation depicts this cyclical movement of life, in which we seek our own origins in the endless passage of time.
